Replacing G/box&Diff oil
Its time to do my gearbox and diff oil. I've been told to use 75/90 fully synthetic.
But how much in each, any special tools required, and any tips. Only got a trolley jack and axle stands (97 STI type R), no access to ramps :( Cheers Dill |

fairly straight forward to do
the 2 plugs on my rear diff were fooking tight though so i would undo fill one first just to make sure you can get it out my diff took just under a litre of oil gearbox was easy to drain and fill back up i think it took about 3.5 litres i used redline synthetic in mine from graham goode big improvement with gear change and noise over standard oil getting oil in to diff was not that easy had to use an oil suction pump i got to pump oil in it looks like a grease gun they can be purchased for about £15,they are used to drain engine oil from cars with no sump plug |
Is the Millers Oil Fully Sin ok for this or should it be Semi :wonder:

You have a dccd and a plated rear diff. You need the right oils for these two.

How much in total oil do i need then, been recommended 75/90 for g/box and other diffs(i'm assuming 2 (front and centre)) and 80/90 for rear. I've been told that if you use the'correct' spec oil in the centre diff, problems can occur so its better to use 75/90?

Tip that i read for rear diff, always undo the top plug first, if the bottom one is stuck fast you still have oil in it :)
