Who's had diamondbrite/supaguard....
fitted?
Is it worth the money? What can I use to polish it afterwards with this already on the car? |
It's garbage, had it on two new Subaru's, it's a con.
Polished Bliss will tell you how to strip it off if you already have it on the car, I found it nearly impossible to properly polish/wax the car with that crap on, it just smeared everywhere and wouldn't buff off properly. Also, if it's applied by a cowboy then you'll have even more swirls than you did before. |
Cheers gooner. I'm getting it thrown-in as part of the deal, and thought it was a bonus. Now i'm not sure. :(

My advice is don't do it !
Was done as a freebie on my car which I bought new in March last year. Car looked really shiny but underneath the Diamondbrite it was covered in swirls. Ended up getting it machine polished off though it's still not perfect, so my advice would be ask for a £200 discount instead and get a professional to finish the car for you ! :) |
As above; one of the reasons I got into proper car care was because I was sucked into a Supaguard treatment 6 years ago and I'm still sore now! All of these 'long-life' treatments are simply average quality paint sealants that you could buy for around £20; the rest of the cash is paid for the labour aspect, and to make the sale all the sweeter for the dealer. To cap it all, a lot of the time poor prep means that the application of these products actually results in more swirls, as mentioned above; only this morning we had a call from a guy in Glasgow with a similar problem on his brand new Porsche Caymen. So, my advice, pass the offer up, and either get the car prepared by a pro, or get some decent products and do it yourself. :)

Thanks very much for the advice. It took some thing about I can tell you. lol
The outcome: The dealer wouldn't knock anymore off the car price if I don't have it done, so I'm getting them to do the alloys and interior, and there giving me the rest of the stuff, that way I can either try it on a small area first, or just buy something else. :) |
