Can anyone help here.

Received my MBC today, but it only came with one piece of hose already attached - is this right?

Tried fitting it as per instructions on previous posts, but realised that I need two hoses, one from wastegate to MBC and one from turbo nipple to MBC, I only have one hose. I thought maybe you had to cut the hose supplied, but I don't think it would be long enough to join up then.

Did everyone else get two hoses, are you meant to cut it in half, do you have to re-use hoses that are already on the car, or do you have to buy more hose?

Of course, I could be totally confused, which is likely.

Can someone help me out!?

Cheers,

MS

Martin,

I've only fitted them to early cars but I take it you have seen Harry's picture Here ?

Hopefully John or Harry spot your thread and can lend some insight...

Thanks

BTW, one hose is normal - you are not missing anything... ;)

Thanks

So which hose are you supposed to join on to the other end of the MBC then? The end of the MBC with the hose alreadyattached goes to the wastegate, so what hose joins to the turbo nipple? Are you meant to cut the silver hose supplied in half or what??

Very confused,

MS

I reckon you could link up three or four Dawes devices with the amount of hose that is supplied with two. There is plenty. Chop the silver hose and fit - plenty spare. The device itself covers about half the gap between the turbo nipple and the wastegate nipple.

The hose is as you say attached to the wastegate end. Chop half, clamp it between the turbo nipple and the Dawes input (clamp properly not with ty-raps - go to halfords and buy some proper screw up clamps for £1). You could use the hose with the restrictor in if you remove the restrictor first. Then plug the Dawes in place of the T-piece and disconnect and cap the line that did go from the side port of the T-piece to the wing.

Mmmm, lots of similarities with fitting tubes into people with taps and T-pieces for draining various body parts (!)... gross thought for you ;)

As John say's there should be enough hose to connect up both ends. At first I did buy extra hose from CAFCO but have now shortened the hoses to a point where there was enough hose in the first place!

There is a benefit to keeping the hose as short as possible too, it will keep the peak boost within respectable limits.

Martin

No worries...!! Dawes only supply one lengh of hose with the basic kit. Nothing missing.

Thank you very much John and Harry. Everything I needed to know. What would we do without people like you eh!? :D

Cheers,

MS
