Repairing Water pipes

My ater pipe split last night, the onr that goes form the block to the top of the rad. I quickly took it off earlier and wrapped around it loads of times tightly with insulation tape, it seems to have held well.

I will be upgrading all my pipes to Samco sport shortly when funds allow, but for the time being is there a product that i can use semil long term, or is it best to just hunt around for a second hand one

Cheers

I used a 2 part repair kit from Halfords once, it had a slightly adhesive tape for the first pass and a cloth type tape for the second layer. Not sure how long it would have lasted though as was only a temporary repair till I sourced a replacment.

Will see how the insulating tape holds out, i must have wrapped it around about 30 times, and went along quite a bit both sides of the (what looks like a japs eye :D )

I doubt it will seal 100%. Semi long term fix is a new OE pipe, less than £20 from a dealer.
