Hi Guys.

I am having a issue with a local Dealer.

My car had a new clutch in and 2000 miles later teh engien blew up, they replace dteh engien and then after it was put back together they said that the clutch was screwed and wouldnt select gear the pedal wouldnt do any thing.... im thinking release bearing... here are soem pix, just after soem advice on what peopel think, does it look so worn it wouldnt select gear.. I was charged labour and parts.

if you have any pix of your worn clutchs it be great for soem more evidence.Andy

That plate looks ok to me.
If the pedal did nothing, and before it did then i would think they have not connected the thrust bearing correctly.
You have to engage it by hand by pushing the clutch fork towards the engine bulkhead hard till it snaps with a click! into position.

The arm will move fore/aft about 10mm with the free-play in the system.
This is my Impreza clutch, still fine when i took it out for a gearbox change.
It has done 120+ drag starts in competition, and 3 years/8K road miles with a 407 bhp/370 lbft Sti engine and racing tyres!

Good luck!
