As a rule of thumb.

Induction kits - tend to mess up the MAF (which was especialy fragile on this year of car). Yet you see many with induction kits on.
Personaly I would stick to a pannel filter - but just put something quality in it.
The disavantage of the Pannel filter is that you lose the noise of a VTA dump valve. VTA Dump valves and cone filters etc dont tend to do scoobies much good or give powergains. How much cold air you can get going through the filter is the key.

I am not a techy - so I am sure someone can give you more detailed info. And perhaps recommend something that wont kill the MAF.

HKS are the most expensive. Not necessarily the best. If you want an induction kit you can't go wrong with Green, K&N or Apexi.
