Other Cars using Scooby running gear

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are any other cars in circulation with Scooby running gear. There seam to be allot people these days fitting different engines into different cars. Like Audi tt engines in Golfs, 2.0 novas, cosworth powered 106’s, mi16 205’s even a pulsar powered 205. The list is endless.

Now I was thinking how good it would be to have the power of the Scooby in a light hatchback (ie Clio Williams) fully stripped it should weigh 950kg and with the early 98running gear and a few mods 260bhp+ it should be allot of fun.

Any ideas. The anly car I know of is the ADRENALINE MOTORSPORT MURTAYA but that’s a kit car.

Any info would be great…

There's a guy in NZ who fits Scooby running gear into Quadbikes:eek2:

apart from the fabricating it shouldn't so too hard if all the loom and clocks/dash..ect are used. the only issue i see is the Hatch's have the rack on the back and the scooby on the front. Does the scooby have a long steering column

There was a rally prepped Rover 200 in triple C (cars and car conversions)many years ago. It had full scooby running gear and engine but was only rear wheel drive.

I was lead to believe that the scooby engine was a lot wider than your normal inline-4 engines (but shorter, on the other hand), so does this stop it fitting in most engine bays? (I realise this may be a stupid question ;))

^^^^ if you mean an mkII escort then yes I've seen it. Don't think it would work very well in an rs200.

if you pull apart your Subie, you are running mostly Mitsubishi electronics. Put's it back into perspective

did i read somewhere, column mccrea has a mk2 escort with subaru engine and running gear and the guy who built it is taking orders for more......

Flan 15 February 2007 11:40 AM

in that case it must fit into a narrow engine bay as the mk2 escorts aren't that wide, Does anyone know the "width" of a scooby engine. ie from tip of the head oneside to the other.
