County Clare/County Kerry holiday recommendations?
Anyone know of anywhere in SW Ireland that they'd recommend please?
Am thinking self catering. But also wondering if this part of the world has enough to keep young children amused for a week? Thanks :) |
Tel, had an ex whose family came from Clare, she went there frequently. Although its supposed to be beautiful, it is rugged and fairly rural, its also obviously very suseptable to bad weather.
You'd need to visit some tourist sites but unless your two girls are into walking then you may struggle to find enough to do. The raods arent great over there either and you'd need a car to get about:) |
I used to holiday in Skibbereen and loved it, used it as a base for many cycling holidays :thumb:

I'm off to Cork on Monday, just south of Blarney.
Have 4 days of beer and golf planned, cant wait! |
Tel, can also recommend Skibberen, but I think you will struggle to find enough for the kids to do, sadly the weather can change in an instant, we have been there in August and it still peed down, If you do go I can recommend Dursey the best place in the world for fresh crab sandwiches, we have friends in Castletownbare, it's another world a pub on every corner:thumb: look at Skull they have a few holiday parks there.

Cork and Kerry are a must see.
This place is great for kids...Trabolgan, East Cork.... is Ireland's favourite holiday destination with fabulous scenery, great accommodation and an endless list of activities for everyone to enjoy |
Also visit Kinsale!
