Wheel Refurbishment

I'm looking to get my OE STi wheels Powdercoated a colour other than Gold. Does anyone know of a good (read good value) establishment near Cardiff that I can get them done. There's no damage on them, just want a straight colour swap.

I'm thinking Black, Antracite or Bronze :thumb:

Cheers

make sure they powder coat to 60 microns
most painters only put on 30 microns as standard

I want mine powder coated White. so after reading this thread i phoned castle coating and they told me i would cost £25 per wheel BUT they need to be down to the metal first.

Where can i get them blasted first?

Julian

WR1JLD 08 February 2007 12:16 PM

Just phoned renowheel and the want £60 ish per wheel. They take them back to metal and then build them up to the colour you want.

I think a GB would be good.

Anyone?

SW Sport Pilot 08 February 2007 12:56 PM

Il be taking mine to Renowheel to get my rotas for either a refurb or a refurb and a colour change to anthracite but i wont be doing it soon with clutch changes brembo fittings and multitude of other jobs that need doing. Wouldnt it be better to sort out a group buy closer to the spring or summer time where newly refurbed wheels are not subject to the attrocious winter road conditions

just my opinion

Cheers

Ian

valley commando 08 February 2007 01:35 PM

we,re intrested in a G.B was getting it done any way

DannyBoy007 08 February 2007 01:45 PM

I'm interested, Fancy a change of colour and I've got a couple of small curb marks, but then again I might just sell the wheels and buy a different style. The tyres have about 4-5mm left so a little time to decide.

WR1JLD 08 February 2007 02:03 PM

VC. i have got to go out soon. but when i get back i will ask Renowheel about a GB and get back to you.

then put it in the GB section.

anyone else interested?

julian

Russ71 08 February 2007 02:45 PM

Possibly, do you have to have a spare set of wheels in order for them to have the old ones, or do they do it while you wait :lol1: if so how long do they have the wheels for etc....so many questions

WR1JLD 08 February 2007 02:55 PM

Just rang Renowheel and the bloke who does the priceing for GB is out, but he is going to email me with the prices for 5, 10,and 15 people.

I takes 4-5 days depending on what you want done.

Julian

WR1JLD 08 February 2007 05:30 PM

ok then. I just spoke to Renowheel and the deal is:

10% discount to start
A free Tyre service worth £32. (Tyre fitting, balancing etc)
17" wheels £75+vat - 10% = £67.50 +vat Refurb and powdercoat
18" wheels £85+vat - 10% = £76.50 +vat Refurb and powdercoat
Duration is 5 working days max.
The more people that join the GB the more discount.

Not wanting to ofend anybody:Suspiciou and yes you have a valid point i think yan as it is expensive when you consider that you can buy new sets of wheels on flebay for not much more:idea: but on the other hand you might have a set that cost you a hell of a lot of hard earn coin and are the only wheels that you prefer
or they came with the car as standard and think that 317 bucks is a fair price.I've seen dragoons wheels and if this is anything to go on then i'm in
but just a few question from me
1st can they do a dark bronze with silver fleck in it or is it just basic colours:wonder:
2if wheels are curbed not buckled is this in the price:wonder:
if so

I spoke to Steve from RenoWheels today and he said that repairing any damage will be extra!!! Not sure how much though!

WR1JLD 08 February 2007 08:19 PM

When i spoke to renowheel first they said the price was £67.50 per wheel but when they phoned me back they said £75 per wheel:wonder:

sounds as if they added 10% to normal price so it would appear they are giving us discount :norty:

i was thinking of getting them blasted and taking them to Castle coats for £25 per wheel. Depending on cost of blasting?
