So you been up to?
Currently, i'm trying to sell my silver 2.5 Scoob, whilst getting another white GL Scoob ready for another 2.5 block i've had sitting here for a few months.
I've got big plans for the white un, but we all know that plans never always turn out the way you want em to. If it does though, i'll be a happy bunny. http://smilies.vidahost.com/contrib/tweetz/wiggle.gif |
im on my way down to pay MR.F a visit my next time home to pick up his Spec-C 6 speed box/dccd/prop/shifter/clutch/fly i bought from him a wee while back :norty:
|
Im about to sell the MY 94 car once shes got a fresh MOT and any paint sorted out.
Got an STI 6 Type Ra in storage now. Already has an OMP cage fitted. A set of Bilstein coilovers fitted. Two sets of Speedline Corsa wheels on P Zeros Cusco adjustable rear brace Cusco roll bar Cusco lower brace STI flaps in red Sitting in boxes are, Sparco suede wheel Six point harnesses A set of Toora seats with Prodrive mounts Ordering a Timing belt and mod from Prodrive An oil pump from RCM and service pack Baffled sump Got prices coming back for that dash flocking carry on. Hyd handbrake kit is being made by a local guy thats got too much time on his hands. Want to get the geometry set up so I will need to get a decent set of pillow mounts first. Once I have the basics cracked I can then look at some serious changes. Like you say Dave, plans are always subject to change. |
I'm just home from work where I have been driving an M5.
|
Doug, was it the newest M5?
Jamie, where did you get Toora seats from? I thought they just done wheels? Oh and what's this "mod" from Prodrive? :D Acid, i fancied Andy's gearbox etc myself, but was told for the power getting produced by the 2.5, it was too short ratio'd. :( What car you got again? |

I bought them unused from a chap that bought a lot of their stuff when they shut up shop. And the mod is a tensioner kit that Im going to try and get. Its to prevent the timing belt from jumping when sitting on the start line. Apparently it has happened before when a car has been preparing for launch, revving up and down with no load can cause the belt to jump and jigger the timing. As far as I know, it consists of an extra guide roller or two. Im on the case just now. I will let you know the details and price when I get a reply.:D |
Cool as Jamie. :thumb:
Acid, if i hadn't just provisionally sold mine, i'd have taken you out for a spin. |
no probs m8, with the mods i have going on i should be around the 400 mark with the funny fuel in, the block i have has done 80k without a rebuild (to the best of my knoweledge) and im worried 400 will be a bit much for it, so was thinking about putting in a 2.5 or that axis 2.35 along wi the gearbox etc, i was looking to put in a strong block incase i move things along a bit further in the future

Not much.
Heading to dastek next week to get the APS CAK lOOked at, as it seems to be rubbing on the hole to the wing. Plus i'll prolly pay them to de-tango. Don't have enough tools/knowledge/time myself. May have a power run too, just to get a graph to accompany the latest mods. |

http://www.srbpower.com/images/buddy...us/image03.jpg Acid, if you want a spin in an Axis stage 4 powered car let me know. Give me a few weeks to get it back in the car though. |
Any SMART guy, would know thats just a pic to show you what the wheels look like. ;)
Currently, i will hopefully be doing a bit of a deal on a 6 speed, ECU, fuel rails and turbo. |
Neil's turbo? It's a biggun mate.
What inlet manifold are you going to use? |
sod the 6 speed....think of all that extra weight!!!
|
Not Neilo's turbo no. Plain old reversed phase 1.....maybe.
Stuart, if i was sure to have the money for a PPG or similar, but i just CAN'T justify 3k+ for it. That money is better spent on plenty other things IMHO. |
Was going to say I've got what's left of my phase 2 rails if you were goign that way.
I've got a sump too if you're interested. |
Defo interested in the sump, yer. Name your price and i'll stop by with the dosh.
|
spark a weld on a bracket for me and we'll call it even?
|
I like your style. :thumb:
Pop it down anytime and i'll sort it out. I'll even try to do a better job of it, than Johnnys floor. :lol1: |
Sounds good. Won't be for a while though as it's the turbo support bracket and I've not worked out how I'm going to do it yet.
You can come get the sump anytime or I'll bring it to work (backshift this week? |
When you working on the car, trying to fit the bracket? I could have had a shifty and got measurements?

Acid, if you want a spin in an Axis stage 4 powered car let me know. Give me a few weeks to get it back in the car though. so was looking at the 2.3 from scoobymania, has any of you had any dealings with them or have any info on the quality of there blocks? |
They told me that too.
The problem is that the ej22t engine blocks that they base the conversion on haven't been manufactured by subaru for quite a few years now. Over ten I think. What I did was bought my own block and had it shipped to Axis to do the conversion. Of course the price is less than what they quote on their website as you have supplied the main component. If you want I can take you through the whole process, I did it for someone else on here. Do a search for scoobyslammed. |
ok sent him a PM, cheers m8 :-)
|
ok seems that place no longer has anymore EJ22t blocks left so looks like my idea of a CDB 2.3 has gone out the window its back to square one for just now, dunno wot to make of the scoobymania blocks as they have the spec c crank from a 2.0 installed in a 2.33?
wot other options is there only the 2.5 i guess? |
IIRC you can still get a 2.33 from a 2 litre CDB.
If not, you can get a 2.2 out of it at least. IMHO for a brand new block, you can't go wrong with a 2.5 and some drop in pistons. |
