Running as 2nd Car and Insurance

Anyone use their scoob as a second car? Whats the best/cheapest way to insure it. I'm guessing insure the scoob as the main car with full no claims and insure my main car as second with no claims? Are there any policies out there that allow you to insure both under one policy?

Thanks for any advice :luxhello:

I'm with admiral at the moment.

They are very good to be honest. Though they dont like mod'd cars

Direct line are offering to match existing no claims on a second car.

I insure my subaru as main car with 6k limited mileage, which is extandable if needs be (all mods declared) and my Pug TDi as second car with high mileage allowance.

I'm using A-Plan (ask for clare when you ring, she's the subaru girl). I switched from Admiral to A-Plan as A-Plan cover both cars over 100quid cheaper than Admiral was just for the subaru.

Both my cars are actually with different underwriters, but A-Plan as brokers sort that out and deal with both companies to take your NCD on your main policy into account for your second car.

Give clare a ring and say you were recommended by scoobynet members :)

Speak to moley.. Just quoted a rover coupe turbo as a runabout/track car for £260... :D:D

Try Norwich Union Direct.

I've got my Spec C with them and I've just taken out a policy on a Rover 25 GTi - they gave me five years introductory no claims bonus on the Rover.

Another plus with Norwich Union is that if you insure another car in the household with them, they'll give you some extra discount, that one reason why my lady changed from Direct Line to Norwich Union Direct with her 172 Clio.

One drawback of NU is they told me they will only allow 3 mods on the Scoob and I was already up to 5 when I rang (2yr ago).
