Standard discs have the small radial cracks on them, and have eaten away pads.
Already know about
OE replacement- 380 notes,discs+pads
Prodrive disc upgrade, 500 - d+p

Are there any others which people would recommend?
Would I have to tell insurance???
Can't afford Calipers and 17" wheels by the way :(

Agree with Pete as I had them fitted this week. Bloody good for the money.

I'm going to Tyres Northampton in a week to have EBC Turbogroove Discs and Greenstuff fitted with braided hoses and 5.1 fluid, 325 quid +VAT:( fitted :D I too needed to replace the brakes under the 16s and couldn't afford the bigger upgrades. However, when you can get better brakes than OEM for cheaper, it has to be done :D I had to declare it to my insurance company, but thats another story ;)

Paul Habgood also has these on his car and thoroughly recommends them!!:D

I'm getting the TSL treatment next week:

Brembo discs
DS2500 pads
Goodrich (ridge!?) hoses

The above will fit your standard 4pot calipers and under 16" wheels.

I'll let you know how I get on with them!

I had Pagid pads all round, Silkolene 5.1 fluid and Goodrich braided hoses all round done on my MY98 with 2 pots recently and I'm pleased.

Now, the discs are shot. I can't afford the AP 6 pots I'd really want (I run on 17 inch wheels) so does anyone know of some good not OEM discs that will fit with my 2 pot calipers (no cash to change them at the moment, so stuck with them).

Pete - do you do discs for 2 pots?????

Simon.

Markus 06 December 2001 12:21 PM

I've got greenstuff pads and wilwood drilled and vented discs under my standard 2-pot calipers on 16 inch wheels. I know that the standard 4-pots will fit under my wheels, so that's an option, but I'm actually going to be getting the AP Racing 4-pot kit, which is designed to fit under 16 inch wheels. Ok, so a bit of wedge (circa 1400 quid) but it should mean that I'll not need to upgrade the wheels or the calipers any time soon.

I too am on a budget and I bought EBC discs and pads.
The difference is marked PLUS they are relatively cheap

simon_prickett 06 December 2001 12:53 PM

Thanks for the advice folks, guess Santa's going to have brake discs on my Christmas tree then!

Maybe later next year for the APs for me.

Simon.

Simon

We have Pagid discs for 2 pot and 4 pot fronts, plus vented and non vented rears. All in stock.

simon_prickett 06 December 2001 02:40 PM

Thanks Pete - called up and bought em. Exclusive, Simon buys Scoobysport product from Scoobysport not the Private forum on here.

Will post about how I get on with them once they're on the car - may take a while as I'm busy at the moment.

Simon.

I had the Scoobysport Group N+ Kit (Pagid discs, pads, pipes and stuff)done about a month ago.

Major improvement. Better pedel feel and better stopping.

A happy customer.
