Help me price a car... please.

Classic Scooby in a slightly unusual blue/purple colour. I'm trying to help price this car for sale on behalf of my brother in law.

- I got it from a UK import specialist called Paul Stephens in Suffolk, so it was declared new in the UK by an independent importer. It is actually an Australia spec car which means it has the UK 2000 engine (slighlty more powerful than the 1999 model) on the 1999 UK body.
- One owner, full service history from approved Subaru dealership
- T reg 1999, 40k miles
- Aircon, Cat 1 Meta alarm, Alpine CD player
- Dented door, two nasty scratches on bonet, embarrassingly scratched alloys, otherwise good nick (paint could do with a T-cut though)
- Impreza Driving Enhancement package: Quick-shift gearchange mechanism, 4x Bilstein dampers & spring kit; 4x 17" wheels, Pirelli P-Zero tyres
- Up-graded front braking system (Prodrive)
- Engine performance package: Jasma full exhaust system, Trust induction kit
- Front strut brace to compliment suspension kit

Any thoughts would be appreciated. I don't have any pics.

I can't believe this... For once there are no opinions from the Scoobynetters?

Advertise for £4999 and accept £4750?

It depends so much on condition that its impossible to give an accurate price.

Best checking on pistonheads/autotrader for similar spec/style cars. That will give you the market value.

Much better indication than someone on here who is guessing/decreasing/inflating the price for whatever their reasons.

From the description it doesn't sound like the best example, might be worth sorting out all the dents and scratches before selling it. If I saw a car like this I'd probably just turn round and walk away.

Don't listen to PSLewis, he's full of sh!t TBH!

I had a 'what's my car worth?' thread and he said about £3,000. Well, 1 week later and it sold for £5,000. Again, don't listen to him!

Have a look in the Trader at what cars are like yours, that will give an idea on how much to put it up for.

Nick ;)

I went onto Parkers valuations and asked for the value of a UK turbo 2000 same age as a guide, that would seem to be fairly close to the spec of your car, although your mileage is low, and the mods I dont think help value wise.

Turbo 2000 4WD 4d 1999/T
Average mileage 70,000 miles
Original Price £20,955
Independent Dealer £4,620
Private Good £4,390
Private Poor £3,270
Part Exchange £4,005

Parker's

That seems low to me, but thats what it says. :cuckoo:
