Slight gearbox rotating whine & clunk.... better description inside..
Not the best 4 word description I've ever come up with but I get the following symptoms after I had what appeared to be clutch slippage coming from a slow speed roll on from a roundabout in second..
The noise from underneath is of something rotating in or near the gearbox when I'm sat idling.. this is audible as a slight rattle from underneath. If I dip the clutch the noise goes away and if I then take my foot off (without engaging any gears) there's a slight audible clunk that can be felt through the pedal as things re-engage.. Nothing major grating or car rattling.. but unnerving. there was some clutch burn after the slip.. Seems quite all right at the moment and bite point hasn't changed.. Any ideas? Car is a JDM 53 plate Type 20 (STI) |
sounds like clutch release bearing rattling, nothing to worry about

I'd check the gearbox oil as a simple thing to do.
