gearbox codes
 
the gearbox in my wagon is TY752VN3BA (which is ready to go bang i think) but i know of a TY752VN1BA box is this a straight fit or do i need to fit rear diff also ?

Straight in no messing. the differences relate to 'improvements' in synchro mesh actuation.

ALL UK gearboxes I.E. TY ??? VN ??? are 3.9 front diff 3.54 rear diff

VB are Japanese and then it becomes less obvious.

We are talking Impreza here, before some one says that their 1.8 Legacy box is : Bla Bla bla bla

I'd treat "The SPDA transmission chart" with a little caution in the area of old UK cars (TY752VN***). I've found that the final drive ratios shown on that page for TY752VN3BA are wrong.

Dave (who is currently in exactly the same nightmare situation! - see my other post erroneously entitled "tight centre diff")
