Detailing Group buy No 2 Starting 19 March

Having spoken with Matt I now have the date's for the second GB:)
Its as before.

Right guys this package has been offered to us based on the assumption of 5 cars being done. Mon - Fri.
Milf hunter has kindly agreed to Matt using his work shop for the work to be carried out, THANKYOU :notworthy

All prices include his travell and hotel costs for the week with no extra to pay.
We have been given roughly a 25% discount on his usual price as he is keen to build relationships and contacts with us.

He can offer a paint restoration program for the sum of £200 per car. This will include the following

comprehensive bodywash with wheels, arches and door jambs cleaned
Wheels cleansed using gentle cleaner to safely restore appearance
Paintwork de-contamination process to remove foregin matter and embedded contaminants leaving the paint with a smooth glassy appearence
Vehicle dried by hand using specialised microfibre drying towels
Paintwork integrity measured on all panels including all forms of substrate - aluminium, steel, GRP, Carbon fibre and PU
Implementation of paintwork correction program
Paint then sealed to preserve polished and perfected shine
Paint then enhanced with a high grde Carnauba wax or durable synthetic application. I can use owners personal wax if so required.

Extaneous items cleansed and dressed including plastics, chrome, glass and mirrors

However the final stage will be left out at this meeting due to time constraints to ensure each car is completed in a day - sometimes things can run over.

He will also be happy to allow some participation from the owner also to act as a guide and introduction to complete car care and maintenance - He feels this will be beneficial and allow the owner get a greater understanding.

Here is the list, we need people to commit now for the week Please add your name to the Date, One name per Day another date very soon.
We need your names down for this to happen.

Tue 20th Mar...
Wed 21th Mar...

Would love to get my car done can scratches in the paintwork be filled repaired? Or do i need to get them painted? The car is white (dont know if that makes any difference) Just dont want to waste anyones time if i book it up then they say it needs painting.

Thanks

Simon

Si,
the fresh paint will need to harden for 6 weeks before being detailed. Not a bad thing though as it looks like Matt will be down pretty regularly!

Yay GB no two is on its way! - looking forward to seeing you again guys - the other customers have just not been the same LOL!

On the scratch front - if the scratch is right through the CC then no amount od polishing/wet sanding will make like new - however I can touch in with paint and re - level. looks very good but not as good as fresh paint. perhaps some photo's and I can have a look for you. As for fresh paint - it can be gently polished and finished with a nreathable product with no detriment whatsoever - so dont let it put you off - in fact polishing is the first thing a paintshop does to their freshly painted panel. But like Rob states it needs to harder for 6 weeks before a sealant can be applied.

let me know if i can help more

Oh and Yan/Kev - thanks a lot - Legends in your own time guys :notworthy

Can you do anything with a damaged clear coat ?

I have a patch on my rear wing where somebody tried to polish a mark out and went through the clear coat. and also a few small marks on the boot lid which look like cracks in the lacquer. Think the damage was cause by tree sap, think the previous owner used to park it under a tree and not wash it very often :(
Probably beyond repair which is why i didn't put my name down on the first GB. Was planning a full re-spray at some point.

I have a scratch up the side of the car which cant really be seen unless you look for it was just wondering if there was any new wonder stuff on the market that can fill it in and polish up. I will try and take some pics of it and if not i will bring it down when your down here see what you think then maybe book it in the next visit.

Thanks

Simon

Just the rear bumper Rob so it should not be a problem, I'm just pleased this has worked out to be later because I would not want the car going in for painting after it was done.. you know how dusty these places can get.

If someone has polished through then there is no remedy other than repair - as for the damaged CC from sap/bird lime the yes i can work on that - its effectivness depends on the amount of CC I have to work with - I determine this using a paint thickness probe that electronically measure it for me and is accurate to 1 micron. i'm sure It would save you a small fortune on a respray - Ask pippyrips - he was doubtfull that his paint could be saved but it came good and he is really pleased with the results.
