no heatshield ??

When my downpipe was fitted it was heatwraped but the heatshield was left off the turbo, is this ok or should i try modifing it to fit back on . 2001 WRX

Best to get it to fit. Sounds like most people on here do. I heard someone mention boiling brake fluid, if its not replaced. Don't know how true that is.

i would get one fitted if i were you a lot of heat on turbo and it is close to the brake and clutch cylinders so could boil your fluid and give brake fade

cheers guys , thought it would need to go back on !!!!

any suggestions on how to go about moding and refitting ????????

If you can't get the old heat sheild to fit, you could always get a turbo blanket from demon tweeks/rally design... Much better at keeping the heat out the engine bay than the standard heat shield IMHO...

got mine heat wrapped never had a problem with brake of clutch fluid.

Removed mine from both my STi and GTB and they've been gathering dust in the shed for years. Boiling brake fluid? - I guess in theory it might but it hasn't in my STi over the last 5 years.
