SUBARU 4POT'S

Hi Everyone.

Are the subaru 4pot callipers normally Quite an improvement over the standard 2pots on a U.K. car ?????

Has anyone found that changing them hasn't improved the stopping power ???

I've never read of anyone NOT thinking they were loads better.

If you're going to do it, you need the discs and some pads too.

Worth investing in braided hoses at the same time;)

I've never heard of anyone complaining,

The disc's are vented and bigger (295mm instead of 277mm) and you've got bigger pads which are being pushed with 4 better designed pistions. Plus they fit behind most standard 16" wheels.

Hell of an improvement especially with uprated pads, discs, fluid and goodridge hosing.
You get a car that stops when you want to.

ive just fitted new 4 pots got rid of them nasty 2 pots ive fitted standard disc and pads up front new ebc disc and greenstuff pads on the back with braided hoses all round only done 5 miles on them so taking it easy on the brake pedal to bed them in but the brake pedel seams better already so will let you know when the bed in.

Got 4 Pots as standard on mine and they are very good, even better once i had the braided hoses fitted, not faded on track yet, although i'm not waiting to either so these will be for sale soon.

Emma, assuming that you've done this and aren't happy, make sure that the calipers are on the right way up, if you look at them, they should have a bleed nipple at the TOP..... if it's at the bottomo, they're up-side down, get them changed side to side, re-bleed, and they'll be fine....

Not sure about imports, not had owt to do with them, but 4-pots were introduced on UK cars in August 1999 IIRC, certainly on ALL UK cars after that date.

They can be recognised by the SUBARU wording cast into the caliper fronts.
The 2-pots had plain fronts.

Mine is a 97 import and only had 2 pots on, I upgraded to 4 pot soon after I bought it

After a number of years with silly 2pot slider "things" on the front of my RA, have upgraded to front & rear gold Brembos. Definately the way to go.
Was just silly driving a 310+ car with the 2 pots and the quick ratio box, got caught out a nuber of times...... barely.
ANYTHING is better than those "things"........

110 % better than the 2 pots,
