Impreza Turbo UK 1999 (Classic) Grille Badge

Yo,

I just discovered my front grille badge has gone walkies :( not sure if they can "just" fall off, or someone has ripped it off. But now I'm looking for a new one.

The original badge was black with silver starts, however my scooby is red and I was thinking could I get away with putting a STi pink badge on? Would it blend in nicely with the red car, or (the big OR) would it just look like "That guy is driving a Impreza Turbo with a STi badge, and thats not a STi" ?

I was hoping I could grab one and see what I thought and if not put a black one on, but the pinks ones are about £25!!

What you think?

Thanks,

Paul.

No, they don't just fall off.;) Not even in S.Yorks;)

Here's the front of mine with a rather faded pink badge I made from the black one, (plus a few other mods):

It now sports a pink one I bought from Graham Goode.

You can change the colour of the badge if you have a black one, the paint can be removed from the rear with Wickes paintbrush cleaner and a bit of work, then repainted any colour you like. Most paints don't fade, but be aware that some nail-varnish does.

Because you are painting the REAR of the badge, no brush marks show, unless you miss a bit;)

So: if you can get an old black badge, (try breakers), you can do it whatever colour you like, then change it back if you don't like.

BTW: anyone who says, "Oh no, he's driving a car with an STi badge and it's not an STi," is a snob anyway, and should be ignored:)
