1.3 kgfm/18psi boost on normal 555 sti ???
asked scott taylor the other night as my car had peaked at 1.13 approx 16.5 psi...as i was considering a chip , now today i was having fun and 1.28 registered which is about 18 psi ! i haven't opened the ecu but all looks norma to me ! ( will defo do it tomorrow) . now as far as i am led to believe. 14.7 is what it should be ? no ? any suggestions.... full deacet but getting a decatted downpipe tomorrow . and has apexi jasma decat as is. and std filter:wonder: :wonder: wtf could it be ?? why boosting so high ? no other mods at all !

Should be 13.64psi as standard.
I reckon you got a Jap Map in there. 1.28 psi is beyond control of the standard map sensor so fuel-cut must of been bypassed somehow. It wouldn't suprise me if it was a Jap map as I have seen some ridiculous ones over the years. When you take the ECU out, if the screws are easy to remove from the cover then you will most likley find a chip/adaptor in there. If it's a virgin ECU the screws are loctited and can be a bitch to get out. |

opened the ecu and it was a james hunt to get open ! (6k ecu) and nothing !:wonder: no daughter board or jap stickers etc etc.. as it should be !:confused: could it just be peaking at 18 psi and dropping back cos its decatted etc ??

i've about the same readings on my boost gauge, sti III v-limited, about 1.25bar at full trottle!!
don't think it has a chip or something like that, but have a cat back blitz nur spec and turbo time.:eek2: |
i hope its just flowing well ! :) its getting a downpipe fitted too(was supposed to be done yesterday) and i hope it doesnt go much higher !! just faster !:norty:

Shouldn't be boosting that high even with a deact.
Check the bottom hose from the boost control solenoid, to see if it has a little brass restritor in it. It;s normally just after the 90 degree bend in the hose. The levels of boost you are reporting should be triggering fuel cut. Fitting the decat will make it even worse. |
no fuel cut scott and i just done my k+n filter as the std one was guffed ! and wa hey ! fook me !! it does pick up better but peak tonight was 1.21 ! and downpipe isnt fitted still ! no fuel cut either ! just goes ! :wonder: no drama either ! i am going to do something with it during the summer. either apexi or one of your little darlings !
