Prediction: Spain will win 2014 World Cup Footy!

What odds do you reckon I'll get for Spain winning World Cup 2014? The reason I ask is that I'm convinced they will win it. I spend a lot of time in both the big cities here in Andalucia and the small mountain villages where I live and I swear, the young kids at age 9-10 have a skill I certainly never had at their age (ok, that doesn't mean much).

I saw a yound kid last night in a back street in my village doing 'keep-me-ups' and he'd got to about 50 as I passed him. Other kids have superb ball control and look more like Brazilians than Spanairds! I reckon it's lack of PS2 etc. here, particulary in the villages which means the kids play on the street instead of in front of a screen and they have a damn good headstart IMHO...

Trust me, Spain in 2014! You heard it here first!

Individuals don't win world cups though - teams do :)

Reckon they have a good enough team just from our tiny village! We've a lot of South Americans living here too - Brazilians, Argentinians and Columbians so 2nd level immigrants could have a good pedigree....

Being able to do keepy ups does not win you a game of football. Vision, teamplay and passing is what gets you there IMO.

Predicition 3 one of the above predictions will come true and one wont...

I'm sure there are kids in England who can do 50 keepy ups, I could when I was a kid! Didn't make me much of a footballer though.

Spain are a nation of under achievers in the World Cup, no reason to think that will change.

That's a good point, I hadn't thought of that! :wonder:

50 keep me ups? I struggled at 6 as a kid (probably even less now!) and 10/1 sounds good odds to me..I'll pay in Euros as the UK will have the common currency by then, most probably!

That will clash with the London Olympics then
