Thinking Of Selling the S202

after a period of time I start getting itchy feet regarding cars and its happening again.
I have been looking at the Clio V6 Sport, I must add I havent driven one yet and have yet to see one in the metal. I went to look at one but it had been picked up by its new owner in the morning and I went in the afternoon, Graham Walkers in Chester anyone know it, lol:rolleyes:, not to buy from there you understand just to look.
I would greatly appreciate any constructive advice from people who have actually had any experience of these cars.

Workmate of mine swapped her evo7 for a Clio V6. Said it was nowhere near as quick or as safe as the evo, was very scarey to drive too. Very fighty around the bends.
Got to say though, it did sound nice.
IMO, keep the S202 very rare and very nice.

Phil.

Is this a serious question?

I was thinking that to. I'd keep the S202. One of the best saloon cars ever made.

You spin me right round baby right round, like a renault baby right round, round round

Test drove a Mk2 V6, i found it understeered, lacked response and as such i couldn't enjoy the drive

scoobydooooo 30 January 2007 12:28 PM

wrong forum to pose this question :) i'd would like a blue clio v6 personally ,
as for safety , not many cars are going to be as solid to drive as a scooby so ............ that is why it has been said on here on many occasions that a complete muppet could drive one fast , my opinion , go for it ! it's you who has the choice

There is a 02 V6 for sale near me for 12995,silver looks good not sure on ditching the s202 though,PM me if you want the garage.

You're thinking of swapping a scooby for a French shopping car?

Nutter.

Hope that if you do decide on a change that you get a good price for the scoob, though - I was truly shocked at how much my STI lost in its first 18 months... :(

EddScott 30 January 2007 01:07 PM

If you do, how much would the S202 be up for? :)

I haven't driven a V6 Clio but I know someone who has one. Think he's warmed to it but when he first got it he regretted not buying a P1 (other car he was looking at)

We've agreed to swap cars for the day at some point. He managed the 'Ring without ditching it (and its a MK1 which were the twitchy ones)

Check out EVO mag this month. 10K performance cars the MK1 V6 wins it.

Is this a serious question?
yes mate it was, I just wanted peoples opinions on what they thought.
As to value it all depends on what people want to pay for it, as it would bea specialised market therefore limiting the amount of people that would be interested in it. I know the forums are not the best places to put what you think you should get for a car, but would obvously prefer it to go to an enthusiast

I have been on the V6 forum and as expected they think they are the best thing since sliced bread!!!

Think you need to test drive one for yourself, you may like it, i didn't personally.
If it were me i'd keep the S202, but then i don't consider myself to be an excellent driver, which i think you need to be to get the best out of a V6 Clio.

They to look and sounds awsome though:).

I didnt enjoy my purchasing experience form said garage and I remember a story of a buyer having problems with a p1 from there a while ago so worth a look... Doubt you'll get a hard sell from them though as they tend to expect the cars to sell themselves...
Enjoy the test drive :thumb: Wish I had the cash to buy your current beast too :)

Nigel like anywhere really the garage you mention has good stories and bad, you always here about the bad one though and the chinese whispers make it worse. Jenni got her p1 from there and Lee got his new STI from there so it cant be that bad mate. As for your choice of car in my opinion you will really really regret it, i know how much you use your beloved s202 and how good a condition it is in but if you get a clio you will really regret it and i reckon you,ll lose some serious cash on it mate. Have you not had a look at a certain soon to be gone british car maker? i thought you was after on of them?
p.s anyone that is seriously thinking of getting a s202 nigels IS THE BEST AROUND BAR NONE

j0nah 30 January 2007 06:19 PM

Don't do it mate. Put those feet in a bowl, dry them and apply cream. That stops the itching.

That car is just too special to sell.

PG03WRX 30 January 2007 07:06 PM

l bought my 03 wrx from graham walker, nice friendly people very helpful, ill be going back soon hopefully to swap it for an sti, they have some nice cars in and they smeem to sell em really quick.

Sc00by_Si 30 January 2007 09:16 PM

Mine's from GW too - I've always found them OK.

Don't do it Nige - the S202 is too nice to get rid of (and you haven't given me a ride in it yet!)

Rasher 30 January 2007 09:31 PM

I am probably being a bit unfair about GW as I have not really had any dealings with them. Just read a bit about a certain 22B they were selling, but that was a long time ago.

I think it's a little unfair to call the midengined RWD Clio a "shopping car", I guess it's it's as rediculous as calling the the S202 a farmers wagon.

Sure it's not as quick as an S202, but I would think it's a pretty special feeling to start it up and drive it every morning. The looks, the noise, the fact it's completely impratical and you'll never see many on your travels.

Outright performance and bang for buck isn't the be all and end all of car ownership, although I think it is on this website.

I say go for it.
