Changing spark plugs

on a v.3 STI, i know i've gotta remove airbox, battery, and washer bottle for access, but is there any special method of removing the coil packs, as i've heard they're easy to damage???

i have a newage and recently changed mine i left battery and washer bottle in place just managed to do it but was very tight and i ended up skinning knuckles so next time i will remove battery and wash bottle
if the coils are the same as mine i just undone the bolt and gently wiggled and eased the packs off no damage was done

only managed to get 2 done before it got dark, leads just pulled straight off, iwas expecting some weird securing effort. managed to drop a plug and 2 extaension bars onto the splash tray under the engine, wasn't impressed, worst bit is not having the right length ext. bars, wud be easy then:)

If you can find one use a Scooby sized spark plug socket with the hex head at the ratchet end. You can then slot the larger size spark plug socket onto this.
Once you crack it loose you can then remove the ratchet and undo the plug by hand by gripping the larger spark plug socket.

You don't need to remove the battery, and version 3 STI's don't have individual coil packs, just a single one situated on the centre of the inlet manifold.

Done, alot easier doing passenger side, bit more space with battery off think, as theres a water bottle to get in the way the other side. Now for the fuel pump...
