2006 2.5 WRX ECU RE-MAP

Looking at an ECU re-map for 2006 WRX. Running a cat back scoobyworld afterburner exhaust system and GFB stealth FX dump valve. Any idea who is best, or more to the point cheapest. Seen scoobyclinic around £650 + VAT including rolling road set up. Any alternatives ?

Powerstation have my recommendation

cheapest is not always the best way to go, tuning ur engine is very important. i would recommend richard bulmer @ tracktive solutions, ex wrc and Motec. (www.tracktive.co.uk) :thumb:

my 06 WRX is off to Zen performance tomorrow , I will give you some feedback then but have read many positive posts about his work…..

how loud is the afterburner at the min I just have the back box but the rest is going on tomorrow but I am going to keep the standard silencer section to keep the noise down for the min, see how loud it is I can always add it another time

"give good results" :lol1: yep

I originally had the rear silencer, then the centre section and there was a difference in noise level when this went on. Any feedback on Zen will be good thanks. This is what tracktive solutions said....

'In our opinion, your most cost effective route would be to have the existing ECU remapped using the ECUTEK software. The cost on this is £650 +VAT (£763.75).
Whilst maintaining the existing up and downpipes the power increases will not be the most effective you can obtain (as both of these pipes have cats in them which impede the gas flow through the exhaust system).
You should still see figures around the 260hp figure with aprox 300ft/lbs of torque with this system on (whereas with better flowing up and down pipes you would see nearer 300hp and 325+ ft/lbs of torque.
You should also consider improving the air coming into your vehicle (by means of an uprated panel filter rather than the more costly induction kit).

Much point in doing a remap for the centre & backbox??

Thought it was only useful if replacing a cat, thus improving flow...

How do you stand on emissions when the time comes at MOT with a replacement CAT, or is it a case of replacing for MOT. I'm no guru as you may well see !!

just got back from Zen performance and the difference is massive came home with the biggest smile on my face, the car just has so much power all the time in any gear and any rev, very pleased with the work that has been carried out. the mapping was all done on the road (I have been told by many people that this is the best way of mapping a car that’s going to be used for road use in its real environment) best thing is for you to give Zen a call on 0845 055 9366 tell them I sent you as its will be a very similar map.. he is more into the way the car drives rather than figures but to me I want a car to drive fast on the road not to talk BS about power figures like many other companies do ………..

Ps anti roll bar and drop links made a massive difference so far really recommend that if you have any cash spare…..

if you go for a sports cat you will have no probs with MOT, ps the full afterbuner set up is bloody loud not as bad as others but its not far off. gives you the idea that you are speeding even when at slow speed

Did you fit the sports cat downpipe, decat pipe, centre section and rear silencer prior to the re-map ?
