Polished Bliss - where did i go wrong

first of all, thanks to Polished Bliss, the scoobs is GLEAMING, however.......... it nearly killed me to do it.

i bought some products a couple of weeks ago, but due to the weather and buying a new house, i had no time to use them. I managed to polish the car about 2 weeks ago but was itching to try the poorboys wax so i gave it a go.

applying the wax was fine, but i did not know how long to leave it on for, so i waxed the whole car, made a cup of tea and came back to buff her up, but the stuff would'nt come off. it was all gathering into white sticky bits?? (it looked like five male porn starts walked passed the car as i was making my cuppa, got too exited by what they saw and shot there load over my motor)::eek2:

it all came off, eventualy, but where did i go wrong??

oh, and it does'nt help when the wax smells like 'hubba bubba', i sniffed it so much i got high:lol1: :lol1:

you probably didn't leave it long enough, or you put way too much on, a way to test it is to use the tip of your finger and swipe the panel, if it comes off without smearing then your fine to wipe off, if not leave it a bit longer.

too much wax - probably, i dig get a bit carried away.

i normaly work panel by panel, i.e. polish roof first, then polish bonnet, buff roof, then polish wing, buff bonnett, polish wing, etc till i work my way around the car, but not inthis case.

Will leave it even longer next time, cheers, Mr G.L.:thumb:

Spread as thinly as possible, removal will be easy.

Im guessing youve used nattys paste wax on your car mate, recently tried some myself,if you were trying to buff it off with a microfibre cloth it is hard work, when i did mine with it thought fcuk this:cry: tried a cotton stockinette cloth(Autoglym cloth but any will do)came off well easy-then if theres any dust give it a quick rub over with a microfibre after trust me its loads easier.

if you do have troublr buffing spritz it first then it should come off ok mate

Use much less than feels right, spread it as thinly as possible, one panel at a time, as soon as it starts to cure (ie rubbing fingertip through the residue you see it's gone a little stiff) buff with a plush towel. My guess is you used too much, didn't spread it thin enough and let it cure for too long. Most paste waxes should only be left for a few mins before buffing. :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I think it's a case of me using far too much wax and leaving it on way too long. will have another go in a couple of weeks, (i know i probably won't need to, but if the sun is out....) :norty:

once again, thanks too all :) :)
