Have a quick scan here buddy

Components » Graphics and Video - Overclockers UK

Clockers are very good with upto date stuff but do good deals on older things ( when i say older i mean like 6 months ) ;) Keep an eye on deals of the week :)

ATI X1950 Pro without question.

Some good deals here.
If you have the option with your mobo, then go for PCIe.
If you play at resolutions of 1280 x 1024 with AA/AF or higher then it is worth getting the 512mb card.

my current card 6600gt has stopted working for some reason, comp crashes when i am using it, got all new drivers etc, re-instaled windows etc, am running on one of my old cards at the mo, and it works ok, so have put it down to the card being fuked.

that card does look nice

my broken card, 6600gt can be brought for around £45 new now, come down soooo much from when i first brought it!!

I got one of the late great AGP cards for £180, an XFX Geforce 7800 GS a coupla months ago. Its revitalised my 3 year old PC but I would say if you can go PCI then do so, AGP is sadly last years news.

HHxx 29 January 2007 09:40 PM

STOP right there! ;)

PCI
AGP
PCI X
PCI Express

All the above are different interfaces!!

Make sure you get the right one!

It was until ATI released superb cards for AGP that spank a 7800 GS on performance and price ;)
A couple of months can be a long time where computers are concerned.
