I have seen a few scoobes around my area of Thetford - Bury st Edmunds. I wondered where you guys have your servicing / repairs carried out as I believe the nearest place is cambridge. Does anyone know of autopoint in Thetford. These specialise in high performance cars but im not sure how much they know about scoobies.

Hi, Im actually from Thetford and Ive had my silver my95 for a couple of months and I love the beast, although the petrol consumption takes a bit of getting used to. Anyway mines done 85000 and as you probably know is 5000 away from the dreaded 90000 service. Ive also got a small leak from the rocker gasket (offside) and need to get that done as it smells when driven hard as it drips onto the exhaust manifold. One thing you might be able to explain is how the spark is produced as I cant see any conventional HT leads, only 2 small wires to 4 rubber plates where I assume the plugs go.
Also have you heard of autopoint, if so do they service Scoobies
cheers mate

Hi,

I am based in North Suffolk (might be one of the scoobies you have seen around Bury St Eds, green MY99 4 door). In terms of dealer servicing I have been using Welchs at Cambridge (supplying dealer)who are great, but am trying Thurlow Nunn Standen at Downham Market for 22.5K service this weekend. I believe that there is dealer in Norwich and also Osbornes in Colchester.

As for Autopoint, I had new Toyos fitted there during the summer at good value. Most of their work would appear to be motorsport preparation (taking our rally car there for rolling road set-up before next season). There was a x.Thailand rally championship WRX there for engine rebuild when I had tyres fitted so might be worth giving them a call re servicing.

Regards,

Dave
