"MINES" ECU can they be re-mapped?
I bought a "Mines" ecu from Ebay and had it fitted by a very good electronics and mechanic associate. It still had the tamper labels over the sides so had never been opened. When it was fitted he took the top off and clipped a device over the top of the factory fitted mines chip connecting to all the 28 pins and with a laptop managed to alter the settings for the, then modded car. :wonder: I have since had an FMIC and induction kit. As it's popping out the exhaust now i've been told it's running lean?? I am no longer in-touch with the associate and after a phone call to Powerstation they told me the "Mines" ecu could not be re-mapped, yet i saw it done:confused:
HELP!!:( |
If it's popping, it will be running rich, not lean. The popping is caused by excess unburnt fuel exploding in the exhaust.
If I were you I'd get it checked, possibly on a rolling road, to see how safe it's running. |
Will a rolling road tell me if it's running safely?

Come on Guys and Girls! I need some advice:( :(

Thanks:notworthy
But does anyone know the answer to the original Question ref Mines ecu? Should i ditch it and go for an Apexi FC Power Commander???  |
The Mine's ECU runs very aggressive timing and boost, which you should be careful of on UK fuel. I wouldn't use any fuel with a lower octane rating than V-Power.
I believe 22B-Andy who runs Special Scooby's (who rebuilt my sti engine for me) uses a mines ecu in his 22b? The best thing would be to get an apexi ecu and controller, and get it set up properly. You'll probably make more power and safely too. I daresay you'd get quite a few quid on fleabay for the mines ecu too! |
Thanks Mate!:notworthy
How much do you think i would get for the Mine's ecu?:wonder: |
Well...there's one on ebay for a pulsar which is currently sitting at £250...
