TMIC ADVICE!

Thinking about fitting a bigger TMIC and some sort of induction kit to my my99 uk turbo. Would i have to have a remap after or is it just a case of fitting them? Any advice would be much appreciated..........

Yes you should get a remap to take full advantage of the new items.

If you want to benefit from these mods then yes you'll need a remap but you can run the car without.

I ran with an induction kit for a year before having a remap. I then ran for 4 months with FMIC before it was remapped again. And Had no problems.

but unless your going for a FMIC instead of TMIC I'd stick with the standard air box and stick in a decent panal filter. MY99/00 car's love to eat maf's and an induction kit seems to speed up the process.

There was an interesting review of interecoolers in Jap Performance a couple of months back, a Cheap Ebay topmount was worse than the standard one!!! The core of the intercooler wasn't very dense inside.

If I was upgrading my TMIC, I'd be looking at an STI5/6, Fits streight on and is good for 330 or an STI8 which is good for 400BHP but you need to mess around to get this on.

Or we got a group buy going on front mounts depending on how far you want to go with your tune :D

I used the above to fit my STI8 cooler.

Wasn't too hard. Bit of a shock when you first offer it up against the standard IC.

As danny said dont fit an induction kit unless you have to more trouble than its worth:nono:
