Hi all this is my first post on here so be nice! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
I have a Kenwood mask head unit and MB Quart front speakers, and wanted to add a small sub and box in the boot. Does anyone have a small box (oo er!) in the boot and what size? Also what size amp would do me and how much for the lot, roughly. I want to save boot space, hence a small box. Comments much apprecated. |
I have an MTX box, it's probably a foot square and contains an eight inch sub. it looks a little naff but absolutely kicks ass! It sounds much better than some of the bigger ones that I've heard. It's rated at 400 watts, I have a 600watt Jensen amp powering the sub and my 7 by 10's on the shelf.

Thanks Bob,
That sounds ideal! How do you think it would sound with the setup I have, bearing in mind I will disconnect the rears which are sh**te. The MB's are very good and I can completely cut the low freq. out with the high / low passes on the head unit. Size sounds perfect. MB |
I've got the box here
MTX V80, 8" vented subwoofer system Power handling: 200 watts RMS 400 watts total Sensitivety:88db 1W/1M Frequency response:60hz-2.5khz Dimensions:10-1/4"H by 14 1/2W by 14D I have no idea what all this means but I do know it sound good http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif It sound good in my car, a Fiesta and my mate had one in his Golf, I see no reason why it won't sound good in yours! You will need an amp to run it, mine has the contols on it for adjusting volume and frequency, it's just a case of fiddling with it till your're happy. Hope this helps, bob |
Thanks again Bob, I will hunt one down. Only asking if it would sound ok as you have 7*10 as well, where I will only have front's but I should be ok.
