Spyware removal

Looks like i`ve been a bit of a muppet and ended up with some spyware.
Can`t seem to get rid of it.
Anyone got any tips/programs i could use to get rid of it.

The best ive found (and its free) so far is AVGs antispyware. Adaware, spyboy couldnt get rid of some the other day at work but AVG did!
