USB 2.0 on an older PC
As I am a PC illiterate I thought I'd ask if this can be done simply?
My father in law has a 2400mhz PC with USB1 and wants to connect a new canon printer to it via USB. Presumably USB 2 would be much better for that and downloading pics off his digital camera. How does he get USB 2.0? Please Help Thanks in advance |
USB card. About £15.

Also depends on what Operating System he is using. If windows 2000, then you will need to get hold of the USB2.0 update driver to make it work properly. Windows 98 and SE may not work.
XP should be fine. |
Just bought a USB 2.0 card for my folk's old computer from eBay, cost me a fiver including postage.

Scoobynet does it again - just found a 4 USB 2.0 PCI card on Ebuyer for less than a fiver
Many many thanks for such a quick response! |
