Another liverpool thread

Does anyone know why they want to sign Maschareno on loan?

DJ Dunk 17 January 2007 04:36 PM

Because he's an excellent player, an experienced international and probably a bargain considering his current position. Oh, and Rafa loves the Argies.

Abdabz 17 January 2007 06:37 PM

I think the theory is that if he isnt good enough to play for West Ham, then he must be good enough to play for Liverpool ;)

LUCKO 17 January 2007 07:04 PM

cover for Zenden, Kewell, Sissoko perhaps?

pj748r 17 January 2007 08:13 PM

Cover for Alonso rather than Kewell etc.

CrisPDuk 19 January 2007 08:05 AM

Probably to cover Momo whilst he's injured because we're missing him:(

Funkii Munkii 19 January 2007 11:26 AM

I see Liverpool are trying to get FIFA to bend the rules for them again over their proposed transfer of Mascherano, I thought they'd had their favours over their entry into the Champions league after finish 5th the year the won it.

Don't push your luck

DJ Dunk 19 January 2007 12:35 PM

If they did bend the rules it would be for the benefit of the Argentinian FA rather than us.

We need left wingers more at the moment, anyone know if he play on the wing ? Mind you, looks like the 3 up front could be here to stay until the others are fit again.

Funkii Munkii 19 January 2007 12:46 PM

Why the Argentinian FA ?? The rule is no player can play for more than two clubs in one year, to be honest I wasn't even aware of the rule, surely it's a free market and you should be able to buy and sell as you wish, within the windows.

DJ Dunk 19 January 2007 12:56 PM

They argue that if he is forced to stay at West Ham, it will harm their national side as well as his career. Convenient that the Vice President of FIFA is Argentinian Julio Grondona :D ;)

16vmarc 19 January 2007 01:02 PM

They better beat Chelsea at the weekend.

Actually it was UEFA not FIFA who swung the Champions League thing for us;)

I'd be more than happy to see United take him if the Hargreaves deal doesn't come off. Sadly, it appears that he's heading to Anfield.

If you saw the World Cup, you'd understand that he oozes class. He just needs the right nurturing to adapt his game to the Premiership.

I can see him settling in well with Liverpool, if the loan deal goes ahead. :(

but the rule is against the law.

How many times were the rules bent when Man Unitied scored in the 93+ minute?

93rd minute is normal at Old Trafford. :D Its when the scored in the 97th minute that I find annoying ;)

FPMSL

What a load of crap, is that the best you can do :lol1:

apparently it was sanctioned by both FIFA and UEFA ( so thats two squeezes from UEFA now DJ Dunk ;) )

It will be nice to see what he can actually do now rather than sulking at West Ham.
