Senior IT Manager

Central London E1 (Aldgate)

Up to £40,000 (depending on experience) + performance bonus + generous stock option package in venture-backed private company

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior IT Manager to join our team of talented and dedicated individuals driven to make us the market leader.

The role: Reporting directly to the CTO, this individual will have extensive experience in a support / IT management role with proven leadership, interpersonal, as well as technical skills, and demonstrated out-of-the box thinking.

Creativity is a particularly important personality trait, also essential is a passion and love for technology.

Key Responsibilities

 Day to day management of mission-critical IT Infrastructure for 100% availability
 Establish a support team to provide 24/7 support to office employees and clients
 Implement systems management and deployment solutions (e.g. Ghost, Systems Management Server) to streamline the provision of new desktops to employees and implement system upgrades
 Design and implementation of IT infrastructure upgrades to provide increased capacity and availability

Requirements

 3-5 years of experience working in an IT Support environment or experience in a similar role as an IT Manager
 University degree strongly preferred
 Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset  Superior management and interpersonal skills
 A self-starter; driven, passionate, and ambitious
 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
 Experience running a technical environment of over 75+ PCs
 Superior oral and written communication skills
 Exceptional technical skills, particularly in the areas outlined below

Required Technical Skills

 Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory and Group Policy Management, Windows XP desktop management
 Red Hat Enterprise Linux
 Networking (Cisco switching and routing, Extreme, Sonicwall)  Vmware ESX Server
 IIS / Apache  Sharepoint
 SQL Server 2000/5  Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server  Systems provision and management (e.g. Ghost, Systems Management Server)
 HTML, PHP, and shell scripting skills prized



Just to add to this.

We are a multi-award winning company (British Computer Society Flagship Achievement Award 2006, Effective It Awards Most Innovative Use of IT 2006 + many more) in the sameday express logistics (courier) industry. We have created a highly IT focused operations center and need someone to come in, look after it and take it onto the next level. We are ISO9001 and working on ISO14000 and we believe in doing the best job we can. The company is growing rapidly and this is a great opportunity to get in at the start and help it grow. That's not a problem - we manage Portugese,Spanish, Chech, Polish without any issues (amongst a load others).
