I think the only two things that currently work are sending email type messages between consoles and letting the mii's each person has created 'mingle' in the mii parade. I'm just waiting for online play for wii sports if they ever do it, boxing/tennis/golf and bowling online aginst people would be excellent! Although I guess this would be a major achievement as the communication would have to be lag free for the wireless montion sensors to work and the games be playable.

Well I got -1 on the 9 hole golf last night ... a new record for me :D
