omega 2.5 6 cyl bmw engine run about

just bought this today for a run around for a coulple of months when I do some upgrading to the nissan :lol1:

whats the score with them, only bought it for the bm engine as I liked my old 330

probably get it chipped, zorst, 17's oh I need a front bumper:rolleyes:

any websites worth viewing?

GC8 10 January 2007 01:37 AM

The craic is: its crap. Dont expect anything like SE performance, as its massively de-tuned. (I assume that youre talking about the diesel, because the V6 isnt a BMW engine?)

mike_330 10 January 2007 08:28 AM

I know its crap but a cheap diesel run around it is

anybody with useful comments :wonder:

GC8 10 January 2007 08:32 AM

Now that people have seen you come the c*nt with me, further helpful comments are unlikely. Bell-end.

mike_330 10 January 2007 08:48 AM

have you always been such a prick, get a life dick head

mike_330 10 January 2007 08:51 AM

Omegas are nice enough mate but after the beemer i was expecting more of the same and it was a right let down. still they are a right lot cheaper than Beemers mine had been thrapped I think but it was poor. its a bit early to be kicking off isnt it?

mike_330 10 January 2007 09:22 AM

yeah youre right, remember the good old days :freak3: ;)

I had a 330d for over a year, quality car:luxhello:

for abit of spare change it will have to do, as long as it does 30mpg I'm happy:)

that prick it really gets me going when a **** replys with "its ****" thanks for nothing, I could do without such **** comments tbh

Deviate 10 January 2007 09:30 AM

If it does 30mpg I will have it off you mate! :)

mike_330 10 January 2007 09:35 AM

are you also on the cage fighting circuit

Dracoro 10 January 2007 11:44 AM

If they are de-tuned then surely it can't be too difficulty to un-de-tune them back up to higher power levels.

Reffro 10 January 2007 11:50 AM

The BMW engine its based on was only 143bhp in the 5-series, before it was dropped to 130bhp for the Omega.

Baby Scuff 10 January 2007 12:27 PM

The Omegas with this engine remind me of the 405 mi16..... Donar cars :p

The engines are noisey when cold, I think its the timing chain mainly....
I have a BM 325tds and I still like driving it after 2 years, My boss has an Omega and claimed it was really fast (for an old diesel), then he sold it and bought a 525tds and realised the difference in performance.

If the mileage is fairly sensible and the engine ok, don't scrap it a landy/range rover garage will have the engine, my local one buys cars as a whole to rip the engines out for Range Rovers. if look after the do clock up the miles well, mines on 260k without showing signs of dying yet, if the omega engines as restricted they will be less stressed so will go on longer if looked after.

J4CKO 10 January 2007 08:51 PM

Love it, in a BMW its wonderful, the minute it gets put in something else it may as well be an old Perkins taxi engine, even detuned it should still be pretty much the same engine.

Love the manly banter over an old Vauxhall, well done lads !

mike_330 12 January 2007 12:52 AM

thanks, at last there appears someone talking sense :luxhello:

after someone wrote off my car tonight, the omega will have to be my daily driver

stuffed myself full of painkillers and drank 6 cans to curb the pain :freak3:
