where to put knocklink inside scoob?

ordered one of these today but cant think where to fit it inside my car, obviously on the dash somewhere, anyone got one of these fitted to a classic? could you post some pics up to give me some ideas? :)

jayallen 09 January 2007 12:04 AM

A detalarm with remote LED's might of been a better option it can be mounted neatly anywhere

scruffygrey 09 January 2007 12:08 AM

Here's a picture of my install, but I should say that, after posting this picture before, various Forum members suggested the box should be 'taken apart' - the neon wires extended - box hidden behind dashboard - neons just poking through suitable small holes somewhere. Sounds a great idea, but I'm not very good mucking around with the inside of an alectronics box !!

Thats the way to do it. Same as mine. Very tidy job.

pippyrips 09 January 2007 10:37 AM

morning Pete! - however you do it it will look better if you hide the box

Fix your Random Light Generator (CockLink) wherever the Chavs and 14 year old girls can see it ..... they the only ones remotely interested in some anal contraption :D

Each to his own - remember, people who live in glass houses should not masturbate, eh Pete!

Tidgy 09 January 2007 10:46 AM

mines in the drivers side vent, fits in rather nicely, shall get a pic and post it up for ya ;)

ATTENTION PSLEWIS

I suppose you think you have a sense of humour - I don't.

When a Forum member asks for advise / help, other members contribute to genuinely try and be helpful - NOT to receive ridicule from moronic members such as yourself.

I have modified my car to suit ME - not you.

I don't see any 'funny' side to your patehtic and childish comments.
As your username suggests, why don't you just PS off ?

Its also a classic example of why I prefer this site to SIDC.

I prefer forums when there are people to spice stuff up, be a bit loud-mouthed. It makes the reading more interesting. Just dont take his, or anyone elses comments personally.

It seems that people take his comments personally, get all upset and start to complain, which I just dont see the point in.

Tidgy 09 January 2007 11:37 AM

lol, he only does it to wind them up. doesn't wind me up, just anoying hearing him repeat himself over and over

This exactly sums up my thoughts on PSLEWIS's original comments.

Apparently you think it's OK for PSLEWIS to 'spice' things up - but you can't take a spiced reply back to him - interestingly one-sided ??

classic_sti 09 January 2007 11:41 AM

everyone knows how much of a cock he is!
most people (like myself) jst ignore him
hes only a member on here to try take the piss out of everyone!

I made a external unit just for the LED's, makes it easier to install.

That's a VERY neat solution.
Any hints on how to do it? Are the neons in a Maplins box ?

Rob D 09 January 2007 12:24 PM

Yep I'm sure it was a maplin box (so long ago), left the pcb in the knocklink box and just extended the LED's to the new enclosure, tricky part was to drill the holes in the new box in a straight line! Installed the original KL box under the dashboard.

what is the actual point of a knocklink?does it save your engine in anyway ,or is it just a visual warning system:wonder:

its a warning system, your right foot saves the engine when you back off

Paulo P 09 January 2007 03:57 PM

It warns you of engine knock/detonation but sometimes it can be too late on a Scoob :( If you see a red light you should back off.

Ian 09 January 2007 06:38 PM

this is where i have put mine, i have got a my00 v6 sti classic, and they are in the heater vent on the drivers side, next to the window.
