WRX insurance for 31yr olds

Just wondering if I have a good deal with insurance or not? 55 plate WRX saloon, garaged of course, 31yr old, 6yrs no claims, 6 points (obtained pre-WRX!) with PPP - £720. This is with Elephant. Just curious about those of you with simlar circumstances.

A plan i am paying £600 for a high risk area, been quoted less than £400 for when i move house later this year

jayltee1 04 January 2007 10:11 PM

Cheers fella. I ran through online and it came out at 410 but they require a tracker fitting which I don't have. That was also without the PPP into consideration as there was no way to add it. Shame, but thanks for the idea.

After your post I gave Privilege ago as I am looking to buy an 07 WRX. I am 25 with 6yrs NCD No convictions and it came out at £742 with Elephant it was coming out at £825 next best was £1200 with Tesco.
So thanks Charleee

I once paid over 1k for a C reg XR2 back in 96 so all these sound good

bob r 04 January 2007 10:34 PM

Seems ok to me but post code is a major factor.

mickywrx 04 January 2007 10:34 PM

Unless I missed it, nobody has mentioned what type cover. IIRC mine is roughly £650 TPTF. 31, clean licence, drive for a living.

Wonder how much Moley WRX pays for his cover :norty: ;)

Dunno how old he is though.

jayltee1 04 January 2007 10:37 PM

Sorry, should have mentioned that - Fully Comp with protected no claims.

Micky; thats a f*cking dire price! Have you got a quote off Gary?

Flaps 05 January 2007 08:59 AM

I'm 27, with the wife insured too on a two year old WRX we're paying £800. I only have three years no-claims. Car is garaged and only down for 10,000 miles a year. It looks to me like you are being penalised for your points mate. I would try the companies in the insurance section though, I called A-Plan (never heard of them before looking on here) and they dropped my previous best quote by £100 straight away. No tracker required and really good customer service.

Its cheaper to insure a spouse on your policy even if they aren't going to drive it!

I have an 03wrx running 330bhp with other mods: wheels, gauges, STI rear wing etc all declared and insured like for like replacement.

I'm 30 with full no claims but live in a low risk area and mines £760 with kieth michaels.

I looked on here, some of the prices were very cheap. But be warned, most of the prices do not match up with the website if you actually call the broker. You have to check with the provider before you get your hopes up :(
RAC gave me a good quote btw :thumb:

Abx 05 January 2007 09:53 AM

A-plan on an 06 WRX with Mods, 31 and the car is garaged, cost me £550 all in fully comp. As I insured 2 cars together they took an extra £50 of each car.

cannot recomend them enough.

Nope. They've stopped covering imports as new policies now haven't they :wonder:

I didn't think it was a bad price.

2002 Sti PPP policy for £500

I have only 4yrsNC but got Norwich Union policy out of 'Endsleigh' for £500ish and thats no garage, no tracker and bad area.

Not seen cheaper and Norwich Union wanted £1300 when I tried them directly, well weird!

So go Endsleigh!
