WHAT'S NEXT ??????????????????????

it seems that you go up the "car" ladder and come to an abrupt halt at subaru, not that i am complaining or out but, after some think else, i have been toying with the idea of a tvr cerbra or a R34, yes i know two totaly different cars but who gives it my money.
so whats your thoughts on that next rung off the ladder.:wonder:

EmEm 04 January 2007 12:02 PM

Well, after my Scooby (not that I'm planning to sell yet!) I was thinking of an Evo 6 my self! Never really liked the TVR... dont think I'd suit one TBH!

pimmo2000 04 January 2007 12:09 PM

M5 seems to be the Scooby way

speedystu 04 January 2007 12:11 PM

thought about the m5 but its just not different enough for me, plus its almost a rep car!!!!! lol

stira2 04 January 2007 12:47 PM

R34 GTR deffo or a well sorted R33

GazTheHat 04 January 2007 01:13 PM

Why not jump up the Subaru ladder? Spec C / RA / Type xx.

Other than that, it would be an Evo / Skyline for me.

MrRA 04 January 2007 01:23 PM

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

My thoughts exactly.

Spec C, or Spec C Type RA (if you want that little bit extra exclusivity).

speedystu 04 January 2007 01:36 PM

you say try a different version(Spec C, or Spec C Type RA ) but its still a scubaru, dont get me wrong i do love the scub's but its not different if you get me drift..................

scoobynutta555 04 January 2007 01:42 PM

There is a moment when you've done the Subaru range to death and can go no further. I'm specifically coming from the classic shape here and not the new shape versions which I cannot stand, and TBH don't see as a step up anyway.

I was thinking along the lines of a BMW M3 E46.

speedystu 04 January 2007 01:46 PM

had a m3 before liked it but its a bmw, i always said i would never buy the same car twice, and yes before mr pslewis opens up every type is a different drive but all said its still a sub and i am thinking of " DIFFERENT"

Elmer Fudpucker 04 January 2007 01:49 PM

I've always wanted a 2CV:)

speedystu 04 January 2007 01:50 PM

funk in hell never thought of one of them, job done of to the trusty old ****ron dealer

scoobie_eccosse 04 January 2007 01:52 PM

defo skyline R34 pure raw power from standard and can have a lot of mods put into it woohoo thats my next car

stychey 04 January 2007 01:54 PM

Izzy 04 January 2007 01:56 PM

Porsche anyone???

:)

Matt_taylor 04 January 2007 02:00 PM

house for me!

Mangel 04 January 2007 02:08 PM

I was gonna say porsche too.

Similar ish charectaristics. Practical and easy to live with, querky engine, great handling (modern ones mostly, unless older one modified). Loads of tuning bits available. 4wd.

Like you said its your money.

speedymonkey 04 January 2007 02:20 PM

What sort of budget are you thinking:wonder: 10k, 20k, 30k:wonder:

If your thinking porsches/tvr them it must be a good budget :norty:

leerichosti 04 January 2007 03:41 PM

if i had 30/5k id be out like shot for a rs6 total all rounder
performance
exclusivity
space
comfort
mmmmmmmmm slavering just thinking about 1

X30NGO 04 January 2007 03:46 PM

nah not a prosche, they are boring!!! Unless you get a GT3, in my opinion, porsche have been and gone (as far as looks goes).

R34's aren't too common and are as fit as a butchers dog...

With that sort of money why not go for something really different, with sublime performance, style and handling = noble Gto :norty:
Ive only ever seen 1 and fe*k me it sounded and looked the dogs boll*cks, no question (in my opinion) i would be grabing the keys to one of these bad boys with that budget :thumb:
ok not the most practical car, but i could manage :D

bowler wildcat is my alltime lottery winning fantasy vehicle!!! How about one of them??? Faster than a vanquish, and tougher than a panzer!

The Chief 04 January 2007 04:02 PM

I've had this discussion at work - what gives the same thrills, performance and point to point speed of a subaru - i really cant think of anything.

BMW M3 - Gutless low down and no faster than my Classic on Acceleration.
TVR Cerbera - great but just too unreliable.
Honda S2000 Again just gutless low down
Evo - servicing and higher running costs.
Focus ST 225/Astra VXR - FWD:nono:
Monaro - not as tight and chuckable through tight twisty roads.
Clio 182 - FWD and not as fast.

I'm at a loss:(

No faster, but no slower meeting your original criteria. My classic is also gutless until the big turbo cuts in.

For me it isn't a car that's faster that I'll want after this one, just one with similar performance, it'll be a car that's more grown up. Hard to describe.

I did think of a Noble, but I don't want to spend any more than 15k ish on a car nowadays and it isn't the most pratical of cars ;)

Eons ago I was going to get a 993 turbo. I wish I had now instead of a new P1, I could have run it on the depreciation of the P1 alone.

I Know what you are saying as i supose they are a totally different driving machine - i have the TD04 Turbo so it spools really quick but.... runs out of ummphhh at 5.5-6k just as the M3 is hitting its stride.

I can only think of a 996 Turbo giving me the performance that i want - and one of those might as well be light years way for me:cry:

WHEELSHOP0_0 04 January 2007 04:47 PM

Had a Cerbera, was a love/hate thing loved bits hated it more, sold it.
Had a few Porkers(still have old one). Good but expensive.
Got an RS4 now.
It eats clutches for fun:(

Will buy a Skyline this year, wanted one for ages now.

 i've had one when i was 19, group 1 insurance, used it to build my NCD, drove it for a week while my Ibiza Cupra was having a leather re-trim them put it in a garage for a year.

Next car if not a scoob would probably be an EVO 8 MR or would love an R34 GTR, but i'll probably stick with Subaru and get a Spec C

sandycam 05 January 2007 01:28 AM
