SVA test?

Gents.

My new JDM Scoob will be tested this week, yipee! Car should be available for me to pick up next week. There will be no Reg Nr until the SVA test is complete & all the paperwork is taken to the DVLA to get the car registered.

My question is will the DVLA give the car a Reg Nr on the day (Mon next week) or will it take time for this to happen? I want to drive the car away on Monday so it will need a Reg Nr & tax etc for me to do that ...

Cheers, TX.

They can do it over the counter. However they may ask for a physical inspection of the car before they issue it. In most cases this is very quick - 5 mins of a job (but you may have to wait for a slot). My last SVA was in June and the VRO gave me the VRM over the counter with no questions asked.

Cheers BTK.

Another option is to put on my personal plate which is currently on retention certificate. Can I do that on the day ie the Monday?

Id expect it to take a week. All foreign registrations are checked with Interpol before a registered number is issued.

Ive always had to wait, usually about four days. The easiest solution will be to ask your local VRO, as theyll be doing it.
