Share your experiences please. Only I am getting a full scoobyworld vortex system, wondering if its gonna be a pain in the ass with the old bill?

p.s. I know its gonna be bonkers loud anyway.:nono:

I followed a Monaro VXR the other day and when he stopped at a junction it made the flooring under my pedals vibrate and thats a standard exhaust setup i believe :eek2:

If you're pottling through built up areas you'll probably avoid detection. If revving the nuts of it then you might get unwanted attention.

I had the Ninja/Afterburner setup and miss it...

andythejock01wrx 03 January 2007 03:11 PM

What ya got now Gaz ? Not so loud ?

billythekid 03 January 2007 03:23 PM

Do you do track days?

H&S Downpipe & Revolution Centre/Back.

Whilst i don't feel guilty at all now with my kiddo in the back. I've lost some love for the car. Just cannot provoke any pops/bangs and it just sounds dull compared to the other setup.

Wifey says she can still here me coming from miles away, but the previous setup was superb in build and sound in comparison. (Revo slash cut lOOks crap!)

griffinz 03 January 2007 04:37 PM

afterburner vortex

not too sure about the two and a half times thing - sounds like b*lls to me. What happens if you drive a 1.0l C2?

There is however a decibel limit on cars, not too sure what it is.

So the Ninja was REALLY loud ? Must admit have heard that the Revolution is a quiet one. 6 months ago that sounded like it would be ideal but ............:lol1:

my 93 03 January 2007 05:27 PM

I have the full afterburner system (de-cat dp, de-cat centre and vortex bb) and have had it fitted for the last two years. No trouble with them so far (touches wood):thumb: .

I have been stopped a few times and they have never commented on the exhaust.

Posted in other thread legal is 108db and the same for a lot of track days. Cops in scotland are going to be issued with decibel meters to nab cars as loud exhausts have been an easy ticket for years on bikes - you can inspect the exhaust no problem on a bike - the idea is to stop anti social cruoozers waking up kids by driving past houses all night.

briforbes 03 January 2007 06:14 PM

108db sounds like the legal limit for bikes, not cars?

If I remember right , the limit for cars is eithe 96 or 98 db.

cookstar 03 January 2007 06:16 PM

Mine is VERY loud, full decat H&S system, never had a prob on the road.

Only time it has been a prob was at the ring :)

Spec'c'57 03 January 2007 06:17 PM

 98... the Tuscan was never that quiet on standard cansaround 110db
the spec'C' is WAY over that also ..... ;)

rocafella 03 January 2007 06:29 PM

..

In my classic scooby i've been pulled in Telford (near wolverhampton) for my exhaust being too lould.

Had a decat from the downpipe .. the policeman said if he had the right apparatus he would have been able to measure the Db's but he got on his knees and put a torch up the back box and baffles were present. If they weren't i would have had to pay a fine.

Not too sure what the law is tho !!

DARKDESTROYER9 03 January 2007 06:39 PM

not had no probs with noise on the road although my veilside exhaust is stupid loud compared to my old scoobysport system but i did get pulled for having my flamer kit switched on :wonder: only one little problem

IT DONT HAVE ONE FITTED:lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: the police then told me it a offence to have a car that spits flames on the road but didnt even give me a producer lmao

monkeyboy840 03 January 2007 06:48 PM

when I put my kit car through the sva the legal limit for the exhaust was 102db.

Shark Man 03 January 2007 06:52 PM

I'm amazed my Land Rover doesn't get pulled. Although generally its plodding along and burbling at 2000rpm most of the time round town so doesn't gain too much attention.

4000rpm is a different story. Its just silly loud. I'm currently bodging some silencers off a Triumph stag that should shut it up a bit without costing more than £50 ;)

legacy-bournemouth 07 January 2007 05:11 PM

I had a Hyundai Coupe F2, with stainless Powerflow system, still catted and it failed the mot on noise levels

Apparantly, the exhaust has to be of equivalent sound to that of the standard system

The testers acid test was and I quote " I decide whether I would want this car starting up outside my house, if I wouldnt, then I fail it on noise levels"

Do i have to have it decatted for the latter one, my motto is if you can see the car in the distance, you may as well hear him comming.

Where can i get one of these fitted, i normally only do main dealer for everything .
