I've been waiting 3 years for the new shape Impreza,
Now thats it's here I'm not sure I should get it and not an MY00 instead,
"evo" gave the old one 5 stars and the new one only 4,
it's slower and not an improvement in the styling,
So what should I get?

The MY00 is a motorcycle, the MY01 a Rolls Royce. What is important to you...? safety, sound, power, handling, looks, etc..

I don't think anyone can decide for you, they a both very good cars... only different.

That's one of the most sensible comments that I've heard made regarding the MY00/01 debate.

My advice would be to put everyone else comments on one side, test drive both and decide for yourself.

Which ever you get, I guarantee... you wont be disapointed.

Agree, I've taken delivery of a MY00 car (I did have a MY98 and recently a Honda Integra R). The new one if different (styling, engineering etc). I think we are seeing a similar thing to when the Golf GTI MK1, BMW M3 and Peugeot 205 GTI were replaced with heavier less focused cars. It gives the cars wider appeal and a broader customer base but does less to satisfy the enthusiast.
