DJ140 - I got bored running mine in on saturday. Couple of hefty-footed starts from a wet lay-bay seemed to do the trick and get rid of the knobbly bits....:D
No real test yet but to say they have transformed the handling is no understatement....not so far at least.
NO tramlining!! they just go where I point them.

It would seem with the S02 being discontinued, the F1's are a good alternative choice. Shame it didn't compare them against the T1-S...............

What are Continental tyres like vs Michelin??

I have some Conti Sport on the front of my car & Goodyears on the rear. The rears are down to 2mm and 3mm and will need replacing in the next few weeks.

The Conti Sport's seam to wear nicely as I've had them on the front for about 6000 miles+ and have only took a 1mm off the tread.

I still feel a bit wheary of the car. I used to floor my old Astra MK3 2.0i Covetible around the corners with no problems of sliding etc.. I only had 205/40 17 Falkens on. I suppose the weight of the Astra helped also and the 115BHP that was pulling it.

I have been biten by the scoob before and I ended up doing a 90DEG. spin around a round-a-bout..(this was in the summer months in the dry aswell!) Luckly there was no-one hurt and no damage to the car. I've taken more care now and learned my lesson..

From the report, the Conti Sport's and Michelin more or less get the same scores/rating.

I can pick up a pair of Conti Sport's for £140 fitted or I can go for the Michelins @ £150.

What do you think...? I itend to change the 15" wheels next year to 17"...so I don't want to spend too much money on them.

SJ is right, T1-S are a good all round option. I have done nearly 10,000 on a set and they just started to go off. I don't do track days but as a racing driver I don't hang about either.. Apparently SO3's are in very short supply and Bridgestone cannot give expected delivery times.

Find some Bridgestone S02's. They are fantastic in the wet, no understeer or power oversteer, as with the original Bridgestone RE010's and great in the dry too.

Take a few hundred miles to run in, but once there you will be very pleased with the result.

Alba tyres in Leeds have them in stock, £100 a corner and I believe Micheldever and Bracknell tyre and Battery, still have stock.
