idling problem
when i come to the lights r to a standstill instead of lovely tickover
its nearly cutting out then advancing then back down and on and on . could it be maf sensor if so can it be cleaned etc ... |
Do you have a standard dump valve.
Why model is your car? |
Sounds very much like the MAF sensor, unplug it and if the car runs okay then it's definetely the MAF. Not really advisable to clean it as they are very susceptible to damage by being handled and shaken, far more viable to replace for a new one which is only available from dealers and should cost circa £90.

What about the DV?
|
its a my00 forge v/a d-valve.
maf sensor is pipe b4 the induction cone ? :thumb: |
The air filter should be bolted to the MAF. Do the checks suggested before, if you get no joy then make sure the DV is not faulty by fitting an OE one. It is very common that DV's do not hold fully closed on idle and therefore the ECU will try to compensate, hence eratic idling.
