Leaky rear lights on a Wagon
 

Nearside rear lights (original) on a MY2000 Classic, have started leaking....... Not good.
It happened about 2 years ago and a tad of Araldite and a dry out seemed to sort it out, but it now seems best to replace the pair with original.

Question.
A few on Fleabay, but can anybody advise if the lights are different from 4Door (bet they are) and does anybody know of a pair for sale (maybe somebody has replaced their standards for a STi or some vile Lexus stylee ones).

Can't help you but what profile tyre are you running on those alloys? I have the same set on my classic wagon running a 40 profile but yours look slightly larger, didn't know they had enough clearance not to rub.

Are the lights actually cracked or have the seals gone? If its just seals then get some bathroom sealant, take them off and clean the black gunk off them and then reseal with bathroom sealant after giving them a good clean and blow dry to get all the moisture out.

Hi no they are not the same it is worth removing them and drying them out the refitting them with some silicon sealer on the back of them :thumb:

Its the horizontal seam between the upper and lower lights, so a bit fiddly to separate the individual light elements.

Wheels/tyres are 215/45 17", which I find give a slightly better ride.

When mine leaked it was running between the light and body . yes the wheels look good on yours i would like a set of newage on my classic 4 door

Bought my wheels mint from a chap on here. Not a mark on them.... Good buy.
Changes gearing slightly (2 or 3% or so) but you won't notice that.

What you need to do is remove the rear light, dry it out and use some black gunk. This is available from paint shops and bodywork specialists and comes in a silicone sealer type tube.

We tried silicone sealer, plumbing putty (not my idea but it worked) but the black gunk is the best.

Silicone sealer didn't work at all :( We tried several times but i don't think it's flexible enough.
