General Ra wagon question?

Is a light weight version RA called a SA when it is a wagon?
Example M reg.

TonyBurns 29 December 2006 05:10 PM

Nope, RA's are in general all 4 doors, though there are a few 2 door versions kicking about but no 5 door versions.

Tony:)

Yes they did produce a type sa wagon.....bascically it came as low spec as possible ie deleted electrics etc...

Dspeed 29 December 2006 05:34 PM

So in effect a light weight wagon, no undeerseal spats, skirts. No electric windows. Did it have the same spec engine as the ra then? What brake would that have been? (From factory in japn)

Anybody on here own one? Any body have any pics? I sw one today and am now jus curious.

there is not such thing as a RA wagon out off the factory anyway.

BUT iff you have a look in the member pic section off Welcome to Type-RA.co.uk - Home of the Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA, Impreza WRX STi Type RA, Impreza Type RA V Limited, Scooby V. Ltd. there is a guy in thiland that has done a full RA transplant into his wagon and it looks the dogs to :thumb:

my misstake!

The Type-SA was marketed as lightweight 'Wagon, but it was really a lower cost entry-level model. The automatics were retro-fitted. All SAs were rated at 220PS.

I had one, they have all electrics and aircon but no side skirts and only the high level spoiler, as GC8 said, it was an automatic and had 220ps.

GC8 30 December 2006 11:21 PM

Those features were off the options list. SAs were available with 5MT & FAT. Automatic transmissions were retro-fitted to manuals (as with other autos at that time).
