Oil perssure and temp gauge

How best to fit the sender units, with adaptor plate on filter?

OK then - in brief, using a sandwich plate with the oil filter is not great because if you're that interested in your oil temp/pressure, presumably you want it to be accurate and relevant to the proper running of your engine. In which case the sump is not the place to measure either temperature or pressure. The general opinion is to use the plug in the block above #3 cylinder for oil temp, and the oil pressure switch behind the alternator for oil pressure. The adapters you need for these can be had off ebay very easily.

The only downside with these is that they are a pain in the arse to fit - compared to simply sticking a sandwich plate on. Neither adapters will need the engine out or anything though.

If you mean the oil PRESSURE sender, and an adaptor to allow use of the OE switch as well as the gauge, do what most folk do, and junk the switch. It's set so low that by the time it comes on your engine is US anyway.

Gauge alone tells you far more;)

get un uprated low pressure switch, that activates between 25-35 psi and replace the oe one with it

Its the little badger just forward of the turbo, you'll have to remove the intercooler to get best access. And nimble little fingers to fit the new one. Got to here for more advice. Found really helpful when fitting.
