Mentioning VBH reminds me of the old joke (most of mine are):

What's hot, red, and throbs between your legs?

Did anyone see Top Gear last night?

It was worth it just to see a couple of Formula 1 Ferraris doing doughnuts. I doubt I'll ever see something like that again.

Outstanding...

Bugger - missed that, Anyone got a video they'd like to lend to me? Or is due to be repeated?

Cheers

Chris

Yeah the Ferraris at the end were fantastic saved a very dull program,,,,not wanting to rant at this time of the morning but streuth the rest of the program was utter tosh!!(IMHO)!!! Oh its usually repeated on BBC Choice!!!

letdown

I was watching "Who wants to be a millionaire" and only remembered about "Top Gear" at around 8.50pm so I just caught the end of the programme. I was wondering what I'd missed but from the sounds of it I saw the best bit.

What else did they cover in the programme?

chiark 10 November 2000 08:57 AM

Other stuff was the collapse of Daewoo, VBH on a scooter which will have some people panting no doubt, and something equally dull like the Nissan QX or other.

I too surfed to Millionaire. Felt sorry for most people on it, esp. the young lady who lost 7k - but she was happy at winning 1K, which is a refreshing attitude.

The ferrari bit was good, especially the comment along the lines of "The ferraris in the car park are worth £100 million"...

Come back next week to find how well Tiffany did in his 3(55|60).

I expect there will be a video released shortly of the ferrari celebrations. Just keep an eye on the Duke Video site.

I felt sorry for the lasy who lost 7k also, especially as her 'phone a friend' gave her the wrong answer and said that he was 75% sure that it was Beijing. She did seem happy with the 1k though - although her guy in the audience wasn't as chuffed.

Coming back to Top Gear, I'd hate to think about the cost of repairs after the Ferrari 360 race.

Alex Zanardi always used to do 'em whenever he won his Champ car races, looked great.

I think TopGear gets worse every week... The best part this week was the Nissan Maxima bit.. they wrecked it completely.. well not literally, but Nissan is not going to sell much Maxima after this piece of film. They gave it a few 1 out of 10's. Value for money.... 1! Hahahaha. LoL.

Hunk 10 November 2000 03:13 PM

Why are Beamers so cheap in the UK... again, in Topgear yesterday they said the Nissan Maxima does cost the same as a BMW 525 exec. That's why they gave it a 1 for value for money. But i just had a look at my Dutch pricelist, here the Maxima costs 77000 and the BMW 115000... the difference is mindblowing..

Dippy 10 November 2000 03:29 PM

True, Beamers seem to be cheaper in the UK than Holland, but other makes seem to be cheaper in Holland than UK.

I don't know how much the Maxima is, but the list for a 525i SE is about 97500 NLG equivalent. If what Top Gear says is true then you Dutch get to buy the Maxima much cheaper than us (you lucky people!)

Anyone want to see an F1 car doing doughnuts
then go to the Goodwood Festival of Speed next July. Top weekend.
