My New Car

My bargain (03) WRX bought for £9k off ebay, 19800 miles, FSSH & five months Subaru proven warranty thrown in. I love this car! :luxhello:

This car really is absolutely immaculate!!

Love to slightly modify it in the future but my insurance co. (Admiral) charged me an extra £50 just cos it's got an STi back box!

Anyone tell me approximately how much a service will cost (main dealer/independant), it's due one the end of April :thumb:

EOEUMC 21 December 2006 07:47 PM

Nice and clean and cheap m8 :)
My insurance tried to stitch me up for £30 because I put a s/s back box in mine :( I told them to stick £50 onmy excess instead :D

nik52wrx 21 December 2006 07:53 PM

Well done :thumb:
As an MY03 it is due its major 3 year service which on my MY03 STI cost 350quid. Not sure if the WRX is any cheaper. That's a main dealer price by the way.
Enjoy your purchase.
Nik.

Had my 03WRX for six months now and never stopped modifying.

Call Keith Michaels Insurance (Tel No in insurance section) and speak with Gary Moulson.

Excellent insurance for impreza's. mines gone up around £200-250 from standard and its 330bhp now. with loads of internal and external mods as well as the engine mods also declared.

30yrd old, married, full no claims etc

Good find indeed. nice to see there are still some decent bargains to be had off the bay!

bugeyeandy 23 December 2006 12:14 AM

How many miles? I paid 9.5k for an 01 just a year ago with 35k on the clock.

Do you have a pic?
How much is your insurance altogether? mine's £713 fully com, I'm 38 with 7 yrs protected no claims.

One of the first things I'd like to fit to the car is the STi rear spoiler, anyone recommend a good supplier? :)

No, don't do it! :nono:
STI spoilers don't even look good on an STI. And they flap around at speed....
Low spoiler or no spoiler, it's the future :D

When I first got the car I took it for a blast up the motorway at about 100 mph, the weather was attrocious with very strong side winds and the bonnet/front air intake seemed to be wobbling all over the place - is this a common thing for Scoobs? :wonder:

Indeed it is. You should try an STI. Bigger scoop = more flapping. Has to be the best reason for fitting a FMIC and de-scooping. Think the bonnet hinges/catch are made from old biscuit tins...

nik52wrx 24 December 2006 07:34 PM

In your opinion of course ;)
True they do bounce a bit but i had a copy on a wrx which was rock solid.
No spoiler at all looks crap.....In my opinion :D
I must admit that the bonnet on my STI does get me thinking when it starts moving about....Pray to got the catch is strong enough to cope
