Beefy 21 December 2006 06:10 PM

If only he'd have hit the JCB next to your car it probably wouldnt have done much damage to either.

Andy S. 21 December 2006 06:29 PM

He hit that as well!!!!

scoobyverysoon 21 December 2006 06:34 PM

:mad: - did it not push yours forward - it could of been a right mess.

Little H 21 December 2006 07:11 PM

andy go and get a car on hire of the same performance and take nothing less!!!, 911 etc, that will get the insurance company to pull there finger out, paying hire on a 911:thumb:

Martin-STI 21 December 2006 09:14 PM

Gutted for you Andy, and know too well how you feel :(

Like Howard says, get a courtesy car to which you are acustomed too (i.e somthing nice, dont foorget, you NEED AWD because of the snow that you have ariurnd at this timeof year (an x5 courtesy car isnt unheard of, and the 3.0d will do an easy 30 mpg :D)

How bad is the damage? gutted you will loose your jap dealer badge too? :(

moneys 21 December 2006 10:18 PM

Absolute ****ing _ _ _ b :hjtwofing to the truck driver.

Sorry to hear it mate, hope you can get it sorted ASAP

Shark Man 21 December 2006 10:57 PM

You try reversing an artic and see how easy it is. :nono:

My office gets hit on a monthly basis by them, well until we concreted a steel girder by the corner of the building....I no longer have to rush outside in fear of the roof falling in on me :D

:D

He should had been looking where he was going

"its as simple as that"

and 'No' as I'm not a truck driver I haven't tried reversing one,
I can only presume though that if you are licenced to drive a truck of that size surely you should be able to turn it round in a competent manner, without hitting sationary vehicles or buildings.

killa 22 December 2006 12:08 AM

Damn I know that you must be very .......... off, how bad is it?
hope you get it sorted, was you inside when it happened?

Andy S. 22 December 2006 09:37 AM

Sorry no replies last night but it was our Xmas doo last night so I got hammered!! drowning my sorrows!

Car is not as bad as the picture looks the spoiler is ripped the full length of it and the bumper has strange shapes and rips in it! it dragged my car 3ft along the ground and if I had not come out shouting and screaming at the driver it would have dragged it into the JCB.

The car feels realy strange to drive, but not sure if thats me being paranoid I now hve a strange knock/ rattle from the top of the rear shock so will have to take it to Prosport to get it looked at!!

Cheers Andy

supertouring 22 December 2006 09:40 AM

I would have thought that this would be the same for car drivers - but we know how far from the truth that is :freak3:

He was not reversing!! he was turning round forwards ie back wheels spinning on the spot! he had no idea that he had hit my car!! he did not feel a thing!

Gav 22 December 2006 10:44 AM

fwdnutz 22 December 2006 11:15 AM

:eek2: F***kin HELL Andy oh dear only just read this as we have been busy as hell at work as you can imagine! and i have to say i really feel for you! all i can assume is was the driver POLISH/some other cheap labour nationality if he was a truly experienced LGV DRIVER he should have known better than to screw round so close to the parked vehicles,
because as you go forward when you get to almost full swing the trailer actually goes backwards at one point as the unit pulls around it at such an extreme angle,:wonder: as you say i cannot understand why he didnt try this manoeuvre a bit sooner as he has all them spaces to the right of your car to jack around on! as your picture clearly shows the angle of the cab and the trailer i would say he is a Crap driver he should have known his trailer would kick back! looks like the end of this year is going to be a bad one what with warren getting bumped in car park and now yours they say accidents happen in three`s i do hope the next smacs incident is not a fatality or similar?:nono:

All i can suggest Andy is that you have done the right thing taking photo evidence as it clearly shows what a f**k up he has made! i mean that is just embarrassing to say he has a lgv licence.:Suspicious as i say the trouble is nowadays the firms are employing cheap labour from other eastern European countries and these dickeds are fu**in our jobs up cos they come over and don`t give a toss about our regulations driving to many hours and not enough sleep hence the spate of crashes on our motorways today

i don`t want to go on too much but i heard a story the other week from a colleague where a pole had come to work at tescos depot near me and he was caught workin in the warehouse at night then in the day he was using his brother/cousins licence to drive lgvs for same tescos on Agency,
the only reason they found out was the soft tw*t hit a low bridge in kids grove on the way to a store with a high-sided trailer(knob) because he didnt know his heights (f**kin scary when you think about it really) no licence =no insurance! Tesco covered their arses f**kin quick i can tell you! but just shows what can happen in our EU friendly country(b***OCKS) to MR BLAIR and his cronies.

Andy i would also take measurements of yard etc. and be as detailed as poss when filling in claim form and state that at no time permission was given to U turn in your yard etc. and any signs you have depicting this as a public/car park area to AID IN THE CLAIM TO BE HONEST HE DOES`NT HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON THE PIC SAYS IT ALL! but just in case get as much info as you can even take a pic of point where he screwed around because by rights a truck driver should not have to scrub his tyres to turn around professionally that is just being fefiing lazy hence my suspicions on him being an experienced lgv driver? if you need any advice m8 forget all the windups b4 give me a shout and i will see if i can advise on anything you are unsure about! as this is just not funny!:thumb:

Andy S. 22 December 2006 12:17 PM

Alan he was from Manchester born and bread accent and all so definatly not Polish

DHL have admitted responsablity this morning, so a good body shop needs sourcing now!

fwdnutz 22 December 2006 12:58 PM

hi Andy no probs i know these courier lads are under pressure at this time of year but still a bit dumb of him though!
i have`nt claimed for years but if i remember rightly my insurance wanted two or three quotes to compare with before they did the work and even then i had to claim on my fully comp poilcy which they sorted quite quick i must add and then they recover costs from third party! i also had a courtesy car but i was running a Porsche 944 turbo back then and was hoping for a nice BMW or boxster:lol1: but i ended up with a year old rover 420 diesel, not quite a Porsche:wonder:
i know a couple of good body shops around here but i think they are abit out of your way! but may be handy for quote purposes!:thumb:

Gav 22 December 2006 01:20 PM

Pete said the bodyshop they used for me have done a fantastic job:thumb:
